A visit to her old master Perim breeds more questions and adds to the confusion already raging in her head: can Lola make the old master spill out the beans and can she find a way to cure Dougal, all without getting killed in the process?

‘Tales of Lola the Black’ is a memorable experience that fans of the fantasy genre will relish and “devour”. Martinez’s dedication to the “show, don’t tell” literary dictum makes this quite a surprising page-turner that will leave you wanting for more. The visuals are also breath-taking: the fiends, the city, even the action, I believe, are excellently “filmable”, so I’m hoping somebody from Hollywood options this book so we can all enjoy Lola’s tales on the big screen.
