There was some serious creativity involved in coming up with this story line and I was pulled in from the beginning with Into the Arms of Madness. Bre and Todd have just gotten married, are self-proclaimed soul mates and are on their honeymoon. This is when it all goes to pot and some really dark, and bizarre, things start to come to light about Todd and the dark fantasy world that he spends a good deal of his time living in.

I'm not going to throw out spoilers and tell you what Todd's "issues" are but they're quite disturbing and this is what I found most intriguing about the story and the book. These characters, and particularly, Bre have a lot to overcome. Pacelli has done a great job with both story and character development here.

I gotta say, this was a doozy.

It starts off pretty normally, you know, with a wedding and honeymoon jitters...normal stuff, right? Then it just keeps trickling down, slowly, very slowly until you get this big reveal...only, it's not what you think.

Bre is a pretty neat character, if a little naive and slow to react to things; and Todd is just...well, I won't spoil anything. He's very hard to figure out and keeps you guessing until the very end.

They really do want their happy ending, though, despite all the stuff they have to go through. You want them to have it even though there is so much going against them. One of my new favorites.
A young man spends much of his time in a fantasy world, but falls in love in this world. As he has gotten older, the character Todd has become more at odds with reality and his fantasies have become darker. He can't tell when he is in his fantasy world and when he is in the real world. Now married to Todd, Bridget learns about her new husbands condition. She feels she is not being told everything. She suspects Todd may have actually committed murder during one of his "fantasies" and that he and his parents are covering it up. From this a nightmare reality forms forcing Bridget to decide just how much she trusts her love for Todd.
Into the Arms of Madness is a harrowing tale of madness and intrigue. It begins with a wedding. Todd and Bridget celebrate their lovely wedding and get ready to begin a happy life together. Only when Bridget wakes up the next morning she starts to notice that Todd’s behavior has changed.

Author Regina Pacelli takes us on a thrilling ride that leaves us asking ourselves how well do you really know someone and how much can love overlook? The suspense builds as Bridget wonders what is behind Todd’s peculiar behavior. Pacelli sets the pace with precision lending to the frightening moment we discover what Todd has been hiding and how will it affect Bridget. Pacelli brings every emotion to life with carefully constructed dialogue and superb narration.

For a suspenseful and exciting mystery you’ll be sure to love, I highly recommend it!
I usually don't like reading any type of suspense novel because I can typically guess the ending. When I started reading "Into the Arms of Madness" I initially heaved a mental sigh thinking I was about to figure out the plot twist in ten minutes. Surprisingly, (for me) I found myself becoming engrossed in the story and my favorite newlyweds. The idea of marrying someone, watching them change, and then questioning the changes REALLY struck a cord with me. Each time I thought I knew exactly where Pacelli was going a great little plot twist would throw me completely off course and leave me a little bit more creeped out. I wish the ending was a little more drawn out, but honestly there is only so far you can go with describing a horrible situation like that and I was satisfied with the conclusion. I do have to admit **SLIGHT SPOILER** the epilogue left me wondering about the main character's own stability...
The story is told from the perspective of a newlywed bride who finds out on her honeymoon about her husband Todd’s strange and scary illness, an illness that she has difficulty coming to grips with. The plot was clearly planned out and ran in an easy to read, logical manner.

There were twists and turns everywhere which grabbed hold of my attention, I just couldn’t put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. The main character Bre was unwilling to let go of her dreams of their future together. She put herself in jeopardy, determined to help him and put their future back on track. Todd is completely in love with her and is torn between his love for her and his illness. The end of the story left me dangling. I really can’t wait for book two.

I really enjoyed reading this fast-paced psychological thriller which had moments of horror and suspense. This book kept me on edge all the way through.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves psychological thrillers.
Regina Pacelli takes us deep “Into the Arms of Madness” with this edge of your seat suspense novel. Well-crafted and finely tuned, this book disturbed me more than once and left me questioning what was really going on.

Bridget and Todd, happy newlyweds, head to a secluded cabin owned and maintained by one of Todd’s friends to enjoy their honeymoon. Everything is perfect, the wedding – while a bit stiff with members of his family, was beautiful. The wedding night superb. This cabin honeymoon should be everything that a honeymoon should be. How could it not be? A freshly stocked refrigerator, fresh flowers in the bedrooms – it is an oasis of perfection for those wishing to embrace their love.

Still flush with the rose of love, Bridget ignores the twinges of unease that pass her way when small, out of place, things are noticed. That flush, that smile can’t hold up when those small things become huge and their honeymoon takes a detour to the truly bizarre – and then out right terrifying.

Fast paced and exciting, Pacelli kept me reading past my bedtime. I really enjoyed “Into the Arms of Madness”- the psychological dissonance of that is real, what might be imagined and a strange sort of familial acceptance is unique and thought provoking.
